Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that the two companies have agreed to carry out joint research in fundamental technologies in the area of platforms for next-generation software-defined vehicles (SDVs). This agreement is based on the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by the companies on March 15 regarding the commencement of discussions on a strategic partnership for the age of intelligence and electrification.

This expands the range of apps available in the Group Application Store, a uniform in-car application store for cars of the Volkswagen Group brands, to more than 70 depending on the model and market.

The newly introduced M.VICS 5.0, under the development motto “All You Can See,” focuses on converging diverse display technologies. From a design perspective, it seamlessly integrates the entire front panel from the left pillar of the driver’s seat to the right pillar of the passenger seat into a single, borderless, wide-screen cockpit.
