Gurugram-based SPH Aviation Pvt Ltd. has announced the launch of iQuantara, its dedicated defence-focused brand aimed at strengthening indigenous drone technologies for India’s evolving defence, surveillance, and security requirements.
The launch marks SPH Aviation’s strategic expansion into the defence and aerospace sector, aligning with India’s vision of self-reliance in critical defence technologies under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
iQuantara to Focus on Indigenous Defence Drone Technologies
iQuantara has been created as a specialised platform for the design, development, and deployment of next-generation integrated unmanned aerial systems (UAS) tailored for Indian defence applications.
The new brand will focus on advanced drone technologies across multiple operational areas, including:
- Surveillance and intelligence collection
- TACC3I systems
- Swarm-based operational missions
- Border monitoring
- GIS-based mapping
- Logistics support
- Emergency management
- Autonomous UAV systems
The transition from SPH Aviation’s earlier defence initiatives to the new iQuantara brand reflects a sharper strategic focus and an expanded vision to scale indigenous drone innovation for defence applications.
Expansion Plans and Manufacturing Targets
Building on AVPL’s existing ecosystem in drone manufacturing, innovation, and skilling, iQuantara plans to manufacture over 500 drones in the coming year while scaling production capacity to 1,000 units annually.
The company also plans to strengthen its research and development capabilities in areas such as:
- Telemetry systems
- Remote controls
- Data exchange technologies
- Autonomous flight systems
- Advanced autopilot solutions
These developments are aligned with India’s growing focus on indigenous defence production and advanced unmanned systems.
Collaboration with Defence R&D Agencies and IITs
As part of its long-term strategy, iQuantara is collaborating with defence research agencies and premier IITs to accelerate innovation, product development, and deployment capabilities.
The initiative also reflects AITMC Venture’s broader vision of evolving from a drone solutions provider focused on agriculture into a multi-domain technology company serving both civilian and strategic sectors.
