Kia India has launched its new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) finance program for the Kia Carens Clavis EV, aiming to make electric vehicle ownership more affordable and accessible for Indian consumers.
The newly introduced BaaS model offers customers flexible financing solutions with lower upfront ownership costs. The initiative is designed to support wider EV adoption in India while providing customers with greater financial flexibility.
The program is available for Kia’s first Made-in-India electric vehicle, the Carens Clavis EV, which has already received positive response from customers for its practicality, technology, and design.
Flexible EV Ownership with Dual-Loan Structure
Under the BaaS model, Kia India has introduced a dual-loan financing structure where the vehicle chassis and battery are financed separately. This approach offers customers improved transparency and easier ownership options.
The finance program is supported by leading financial institutions including:
- ICICI Bank
- HDFC Bank
- Axis Bank
- Kotak Mahindra Bank
- Bajaj Finserv
Customers can own the Kia Carens Clavis EV with finance plans starting from ₹51,520, along with a battery subscription cost of ₹3.3 per kilometre.
Flexible Loan Tenures
Kia India is offering flexible repayment tenures under the BaaS model:
- Up to 60 months for the vehicle body
- Up to 96 months for the battery component
This financing structure is aimed at reducing the financial burden associated with EV ownership while improving affordability for a wider customer base.
Kia Strengthens EV Ecosystem in India
Kia India continues to expand its EV infrastructure and ownership ecosystem across the country. Through the K-Charge platform available on the MyKia app, customers can access over 15,000 charging points nationwide.
The platform also offers:
- EV route planning
- Live charger availability
- Integrated payment solutions
Additionally, Kia has equipped more than 100 dealerships with DC fast chargers and established over 267 EV-ready workshops across India.
