Ford Trucks, the heavy commercial brand of Ford Otosan, and IVECO, the brand of Iveco Group N.V. that designs, manufactures and markets light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles, have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore potential collaboration on the development of a new cabin for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

Makoto Uchida, president and CEO, said: “It is important to prepare for the increasing pace of transformation in mobility in the mid-to-long-term, and it is significant that we have reached this agreement based on a mutual understanding that Honda and Nissan face common challenges. We look forward to further discussions and aim to find win-wins for sustainable growth.”

Daniel Vicario, CEO of Optiphase Drive Systems, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “This collaboration unlocks greater access for advanced vehicle designers to advantages of 5-phase electric motor technology.”

Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) and TIER IV, a pioneer in open-source autonomous driving technology, have announced MC’s strategic investment in TIER IV through a third-party allotment of shares. Through this investment, the companies will cooperatively tackle efforts to transform mobility services in regional areas with autonomous driving technology.

Tata Motors Group has signed a facilitation MoU with the Government of Tamil Nadu to explore setting up a vehicle manufacturing facility in the state. The MoU envisages an investment of ~INR 9,000 crores over 5 years and can potentially create up to 5,000 jobs (direct and indirect).
