Honda and IBM have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining their intent to collaborate on the long-term joint research and development of next-generation computing technologies needed to overcome challenges related to processing capability, power consumption, and design complexity for the realization of the software-defined vehicles (SDV) of the future.

“The automotive industry is being transformed by a massive increase in software and AI that demands more computing within the efficiency and safety constraints of the vehicle,” said Suraj Gajendra, vice president of products and solutions, Automotive Line of Business, Arm. 

“TSMC actively collaborates with stakeholders to face the challenges of climate change and advance towards a net-zero future,” said Lora Ho, senior vice president and ESG Committee Chairperson at TSMC.

According to a report from The Economic Times, Tesla, the US-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has reportedly struck a strategic deal with Tata Electronics to procure semiconductor chips for its global operations.

To promote closer cooperation between Taiwan-U.S. auto-electronics supply chain, technology, and regulations, SAE Taipei Section of Taiwan– the sole organization directly linking the vehicle domain with the U.S. –will soon lead a delegation to participate in the “2024 World Congress Experience (WCX)”, powered by SAE International.

This allows for direct integration of the connectivity inside the sensor – a benefit that no competing solution can provide,” said Eyran Lida, Chief Technology Officer at Valens Semiconductor.
