Volvo Cars has begun shifting the production of its electric vehicles (EVs) from China to Belgium, anticipating a potential crackdown by the European Union on imports subsidized by Beijing, according to a report on Saturday.

“The need for safer mobility is universal. Therefore, the share of safety features in new passenger cars is expected to increase significantly – in both electric and combustion vehicles. Demand is driven by increasing global safety regulations and automotive megatrends,” said Rudolf Stark, head of ZF LIFETEC.
