Tivolt Electric Vehicles, a subsidiary of TI Clean Mobility and a part of the Murugappa Group, announced plans to launch their e-SCV in the upcoming months, marking the group’s venture into the electric small commercial vehicle (e-SCV) market, according to a statement released on Monday.
Vellayan Subbiah, TII Executive Vice Chairman, stated, “The electric vehicle industry is undergoing an exciting phase of growth, not only in India but globally as well. We have dedicated significant resources and time to develop this product, and we eagerly anticipate the response from customers upon its launch.”
Subbiah highlighted TICMPL’s substantial commitment of three thousand crores to the electric vehicle sector. Currently, the company is focusing on four platforms, including the successful MHCV truck and EV three-wheeler already available in the market.
“The SCV segment is the largest category in the commercial vehicle sector, making our entry into this market particularly exciting. This segment is poised to adopt EVs rapidly, backed by policies, government initiatives, and increasing adoption rates,” Subbiah added.
Established in February 2022 as a subsidiary of Tube Investments of India (TI), TICMPL has concentrated on providing clean mobility solutions. With the addition of e-SCVs as its fourth EV platform, TICMPL is now positioned to offer comprehensive mobility solutions to enterprises and logistics companies, catering to their needs for intercity, intracity, and last-mile applications, as stated in the company’s release.
