Leading global logistics provider Rhenus Group has inaugurated a new air freight gateway at Suvarnabhumi Airport, reinforcing Thailand’s position as a vital aviation hub in Southeast Asia.
Strategically located at the heart of the region, the new facility will provide a full suite of multimodal logistics services across Intra-Asia, Europe Westbound, and North America trade routes. Operating 24/7, the gateway features a 600 sqm warehouse, Free Trade Zone (FTZ) storage, and direct connections to Rhenus’ other warehousing facilities near Bangkok and Laem Chabang seaport.
Key Capabilities
- Door-to-door services including pickups, deliveries, and customs clearance
- Value-added solutions such as palletizing, relabelling/packing, sorting, and (de)consolidation
- Fast, secure handling for sensitive and urgent shipments
- Certified to global standards: ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, AEO, IATA, and TAFA
“Bangkok is one of the world’s most connected airports, and our new gateway at Suvarnabhumi further strengthens our role in the region,” said Serdar Onur, Head of Air Freight, Southeast Asia & Oceania, Rhenus Air & Ocean. “With more than 80 air freight specialists and a 24/7 time-critical service unit, we are committed to delivering operational excellence, efficiency, and end-to-end solutions for our customers.”
Expansion and Future Plans
The new gateway complements Rhenus Thailand’s recent Bangna Trad (KM19) warehouse expansion, which added 10,500 sqm of space and 15,000 pallet capacity for semiconductors, production machinery, and white goods. Looking ahead, the company plans to invest in high-security cargo rooms and temperature-controlled facilities for sensitive industries such as healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
Driving Sustainable Logistics
Aligned with its global sustainability strategy, Rhenus Thailand has deployed its first electric vehicle (EV) for daily collections and deliveries in air freight operations, with more EVs to follow.
“The addition of EVs is not just about technology—it’s about reshaping logistics for a sustainable future,” said Nitipon Tansakul, Regional Head of Sustainability, APAC, Rhenus Air & Ocean. “This is the beginning of reducing GHG emissions from fleet operations.”
Stronger Support in Thailand
Alongside the new gateway, Rhenus maintains a regional office in Bangkok, offering integrated solutions in warehousing, cross-border trucking, multimodal transport, customs clearance, and consulting.
“These milestones allow us to support customers with more efficient, flexible, and sustainable solutions while positioning ourselves to serve high-growth sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, and high-tech,” said Tim Burger, Regional Managing Director of Rhenus Thailand, Myanmar, and Cambodia. “Our dedicated team in Thailand remains the backbone of our success.”
