Mahindra Tractors, India’s No.1 tractor brand, has signed an agreement with the Government of Maharashtra to set up a Skill Development Centre in Gadchiroli. The agreement was signed in Mumbai between Mahindra Tractors, the Department of Vocational Education & Training (DVET), and the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) in the presence of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
The centre is a joint initiative of Mahindra Tractors, DVET, and MSSDS. It aims to empower rural youth in Gadchiroli with industry-ready skills while supporting local livelihoods. This effort is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s and Shri Devendra Fadnavis’ vision of making skill development a national priority to harness India’s demographic dividend.
Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “Maharashtra is not just a leading industrial hub, but also a state closely linked to the farm sector’s growth journey. We are proud to partner with the Government of Maharashtra in building a stronger ecosystem for skill development of rural youth in Gadchiroli. Together, we aspire to uplift rural communities and strengthen rural prosperity.”
The Tractor Skill Development Centre will combine Mahindra’s expertise in tractors and farm machinery with advanced skill development programs. It will create multiple career opportunities in areas such as manufacturing assembly, sales, and service at dealerships. Students will benefit from a structured curriculum, modern equipment, and hands-on training provided by expert trainers.
This initiative highlights Mahindra’s commitment to building future-ready talent and driving inclusive growth in rural India.
