Wipro Limited, a prominent technology services and consulting firm, collaborated with FORVIA (FRVIA), the seventh-largest global automotive technology supplier, to optimize FORVIA’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) application suite.
FORVIA leveraged the building blocks of Wipro Engineering Edge’s Cloud Car, specifically Microservices and vehicle container architecture components, to improve its vehicle safety and comfort applications.
FORVIA’s ADAS applications have become largely hardware-independent, offering reduced maintenance costs, and are seamlessly integrated into the value chains of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) due to the underlying cloud-native architecture.
The project featured FORVIA’s cutting-edge surround-view technology, which merges external camera feeds to create a comprehensive 3D view, aiding drivers in parking their vehicles with safety and ease.
FORVIA has integrated all functions of its ADAS application set into a service-oriented microservice architecture, which is loosely connected. This integration has resulted in a substantial reduction in software development lifecycle (SDLC) costs. Consequently, FORVIA is now able to market its ADAS features and functions independently, as well as seamlessly integrate them with ADAS functions from customers or third parties.
Graziella Neuvéglise, Regional Head & Managing Director, Southern Europe, Wipro Limited said, “We are extremely satisfied with the results of our efforts for FORVIA. This initiative demonstrates our robust and varied expertise in the Software Defined Vehicle domain, collaborating with industry leaders to enhance their expansion and re-envision safety and entertainment functionalities through cloud-native engineering practices. We look forward to continuing our partnership with FORVIA to support them in realizing their goals.”
Vanessa Picron, Electronics Europe Division Vice President at FORVIA said, “In the software evolution of the automotive sector, the shift towards microservices and container architecture is a crucial factor in delivering more competitive and easily integrated functions to our clients. It also allows us to expand our offerings with new, software-centric solutions, particularly in safety-critical areas. Our fruitful collaboration with Wipro represents a merging of shared goals and synergistic expertise.”
