Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has signed an MoU with CHARGE ZONE to bolster HMIL’s EV roadmap in alignment with the Government of India’s EV adoption strategies. CHARGE ZONE will install DC 60 kW fast chargers across 100 HMIL dealerships in India. The MoU was signed by Jae Wan Ryu, Function Head – Corporate Planning at HMIL, and Kartikey Hariyani, Founder & CEO of CHARGE ZONE, at HMIL’s headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana. This strategic partnership aims to expand the public EV charging infrastructure, providing convenience for intercity and intracity travel. Jae Wan Ryu emphasized the importance of strengthening EV charging infrastructure to counter range anxiety and encourage electric mobility adoption. He noted that the partnership with CHARGE ZONE will equip 100 Hyundai dealerships with DC 60 kW fast chargers, benefiting all EV users via the ‘myHyundai’ app or the ‘CHARGE ZONE’ app. Kartikey Hariyani highlighted CHARGE ZONE’s development of a renewable energy-powered EV charging network and the collaboration’s goal to enhance 4-Wheeler Electric Vehicle (BEV) infrastructure.
