VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jio-bp pulse. This collaboration aims to expand and streamline charging access for VECV’s electric commercial vehicle customers across India.
Seamless Access to India’s Largest DC Fast-Charging Network
Through this partnership, all Eicher Trucks and Buses EV customers will gain seamless access to Jio-bp’s growing charging network of over 6,000+ points. This network represents India’s largest DC fast-charging footprint, covering:
- Urban centers
- National highways
- Purpose-built EV hubs designed for all types of commercial vehicles
Jio-bp, the fuel retail joint venture of Reliance Industries and bp, operates under the Jio-bp pulse brand in the electric mobility sector. It has quickly built one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing EV charging networks.
Driving EV Adoption in Commercial Transport
The MoU is focused on accelerating the adoption of electric trucks and buses. Under this collaboration:
VECV Contribution | Jio-bp Pulse Contribution |
---|---|
Deep expertise in electric truck technology | Extensive EV charging infrastructure |
Understanding of end-user applications | Customized charging solutions |
Strong customer base in trucking & buses | Expertise in high-power charging |
Together, the companies will actively engage with Eicher Trucks and Buses customers to promote the transition to electric mobility, creating a cleaner and more sustainable transport future for India.
Digital Innovation: My Eicher App Integration
One of the biggest highlights of the MoU is the first-ever integration of public charging network discoverability directly into the My Eicher fleet management app.
Now, fleet operators will enjoy:
- Real-time visibility of charger locations
- Charger availability status within the app
- Data-driven insights to optimize utilization and improve productivity
This innovation addresses one of the biggest concerns in EV adoption—charging accessibility—while boosting operational efficiency for fleets.
Leadership Perspectives
Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO, VECV, said:
“The MoU with Jio-bp pulse represents a major milestone in our journey to electrify trucking in India. By integrating Jio-bp pulse’s extensive charging network into our My Eicher app, we are resolving a critical barrier to electric fleet adoption. This collaboration will accelerate the transition to zero-emission logistics, enabling our customers to embrace electric mobility at scale.”
Sarthak Behuria, Chairman, Jio-bp, added:
