Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has formally discontinued the regular variants of the CBR650R and CB650R and are currently available only with the e-clutch in the Indian market. The decision was made just months after the brand launched the e-clutch models in May 2025, shortly after launching both motorcycles in January this year.
With this upgrade, customers will now have to pay extra for the more technologically advanced e-clutch variants, which cost almost ₹40,000 more than the manual versions. The Honda CB650R e-clutch comes at ₹9.60 lakh, and the completely faired CBR650R e-clutch comes at ₹10.40 lakh. Compared with the previous non-e-clutch CB650R and CBR650R, which started at ₹9.20 lakh and ₹9.99 lakh, respectively.
All around the world in 2023, Honda launched its pioneering E-Clutch system that does away with the clutch lever, delivering smooth gearshifts and improved riding comfort. Coupled with a 649cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine that delivers 95 hp at 12,000 rpm and 63 Nm of torque at 9,500 rpm, this power unit is coupled with a 6-speed transmission that delivers power to the rear wheel.
Feature-wise, both the bikes feature a 5-inch full-color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity via the Honda RoadSync app. Turn-by-turn navigation, call notifications, and message notifications can be accessed on the screen by riders.
