Sahasra Semiconductors, a Rajasthan-based semiconductors company, has commenced the commercial production of the first-ever Indian-made memory chips, surpassing even Micron, the renowned US memory chip maker. The company initiated production at its semiconductor assembly, testing, and packaging facility situated in the Bhiwadi district of Rajasthan earlier this month.

Back in June, Micron Technology, the US-based memory chip giant, unveiled its intentions to establish a semiconductor assembly and testing facility in Gujarat, with an estimated total investment of approximately Rs 22,540 crore.
Amrit Manwani, the Managing Director of the Sahasra Group, stated that the company has earned the distinction of being the first to offer “Made-in-India” micro-SD cards. These products have garnered exceptional responses on various e-commerce platforms, as reported by Economic Times.
