The government has initially earmarked USD 10 billion incentive for setting up a semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in the country including a wafer fabrication plant. The wafer fabrication plants are the first building block of physical chips that are used in all high-tech electronic products.

Amkor has committed $1.6 billion for the first two phases of the project for facility, machinery and equipment, making a substantial contribution to Vietnam’s economic growth. The result will be Amkor’s most advanced facility, delivering next-generation semiconductor packaging capabilities.

BOS Semiconductors, a South Korean automotive semiconductor startup, announced that it is partnering with Tenstorrent, an AI semiconductor company based in North America, to develop automotive SoC (System-on-chip) semiconductors for automobile and automobile part manufacturers.
