The second-generation Q7 SUV, introduced in India in 2017, has received its second facelift, showcasing cosmetic updates to both the exterior and interior, along with new features. Mechanically, it remains unchanged. The vehicle now sports a redesigned front grille with a more prominent chrome frame and a hexagonal pattern, complemented by a 2D logo. It shares its LED headlights with the all-electric Audi Q6 e-tron, which are now positioned higher and incorporate laser diodes for the new daytime running lights. These lights offer four selectable “light signatures” through the infotainment system. Similarly, the OLED tail lights have been updated to provide four distinct light signatures. Additionally, it now includes functional air intakes with piano black inserts.
Stepping inside, the general interior design stays consistent but includes a few subtle modifications. The vehicle now features contrasting grey leather upholstery, available with two new trim options: Cedar Brown and Saiga Beige. The infotainment system has been enhanced to allow passengers to stream music via applications such as Spotify and Amazon Music. Additionally, the Virtual Cockpit has been updated to incorporate a lane-change warning system.
The interior also boasts a 10.1-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, an 8.6-inch touchscreen for climate control, an Audi virtual cockpit, compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control with an air ionizer, customizable ambient lighting, a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system delivering 730 watts, power-adjustable front seats with memory, and electrically foldable third-row seats, among others. For safety, it features Park Assist Plus with a 360° camera, adaptive cruise control with speed limiter, eight airbags, a lane departure warning system with steering assist, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and more.
Mechanically, the SUV remains unchanged. It is equipped with a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine that delivers 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and distributes power to all four wheels through Audi’s Quattro AWD system. It offers seven driving modes: Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Efficiency, Off-Road, All-Road, and Individual. Additionally, the engine features a 48V mild-hybrid system, and Audi claims it can shut off for up to 40 seconds while coasting.
Audi states that the Q7 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in just 5.9 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 250 kph. The Q7 is available in five exterior colors: Sakhir Gold, Waitomo Blue, Mythos Black, Samurai Grey, and Glacier White.
