Reports indicate that the Adani Group is currently engaged in forging a strategic partnership with the Uber to introduce electric cars. This collaboration aims to integrate Uber services into Adani One, a platform launched by the conglomerate in 2022. During his recent visit to India, Gautam Adani, the Chairman of Adani Group, met with Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi on February 24, hinting at potential future collaborations between the two entities.
“Captivating chat with @dkhos, CEO of @Uber. His vision for Uber’s expansion in India is truly inspiring, especially his commitment to uplifting Indian drivers and their dignity. Excited for future collaborations with Dara and his team! #UberIndia,” Adani said in a post on X.
Both leaders expressed their appreciation for their discussion on India’s growth prospects and their shared vision for the region. Khosrowshahi described his meeting with Adani as “absolutely terrific” and mentioned that it took place over breakfast. He emphasized Uber’s commitment to expediting the transition to electric vehicles in India.
Uber has announced plans to transition its entire vehicle fleet to electric vehicles by 2040. In line with this commitment to zero-emission transportation, Uber has introduced Uber Green, an environmentally friendly EV service, in Delhi.
Meanwhile, the Adani Group has committed to investing $100 billion across various sectors over the next decade, including energy transition initiatives. Among its plans are the development of 10 GW of solar manufacturing capacity and the establishment of a large-scale solar farm to harness solar energy.
