ZETWERK, a leading contract manufacturing marketplace, has achieved a major milestone in the EV sector with the approval of its 60kW and 120kW DC fast chargers by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). This certification aligns with ZETWERK’s commitment to bolstering EV infrastructure under the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
The ARAI, a premier research body under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, granted the certification after rigorous testing, ensuring the chargers meet high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and performance. ZETWERK has secured contracts to supply these chargers to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and other private operators, contributing to the expansion of fast-charging networks across India.
“This certification is a key achievement, underscoring our dedication to quality and safety,” said Srinath Ramakkrushnan, Co-founder and COO of ZETWERK. “It strengthens our role in advancing EV adoption with locally produced chargers.”
The company is also developing next-generation Super DC Chargers with capacities of 240kW and 360kW, aimed at reducing charging times for commercial and public stations.
Abhay Adya, Business Head of Zetwerk’s Energy Transition division, added, “Our certified DC fast chargers will play a vital role in India’s growing EV ecosystem, ensuring fast and reliable charging. Partnering with IOCL, we are committed to building a sustainable infrastructure to support the shift to electric mobility.”
ZETWERK’s partnership with IOCL, announced earlier this year, involves deploying over 1,400 fast chargers across India, featuring advanced DC Dual Gun CCS2 technology. As India transitions toward electrification, ZETWERK’s certified chargers are set to enhance the country’s EV infrastructure, supporting both private and commercial vehicles.
