Suzuki has declared that it will display two unique vehicles at the forthcoming EICMA exhibition: the GSX-8R CUP prototype and the brand-new Suzuki Swift 8R. Both models boast a striking black and yellow livery that links their design and performance to Suzuki’s storied racing legacy.
The GSX-8R CUP, a track-focused racing variant of the GSX-8R, was initially unveiled at the Suzuki Motor Fest in Misano in May 2024. This high-performance model will be showcased at EICMA. Concurrently, the Swift 8R will make its debut, a unique iteration of the well-known Swift compact car, crafted to embody the energetic essence of the GSX-8R motorcycle.
The Swift 8R reflects the motorcycle’s striking design with its black and yellow exterior. Measuring 3.86 meters in length, the Swift 8R merges sportiness with a compact form, boasting robust fenders and a unique roofline. It is equipped with a 1.2-liter hybrid engine that produces 81.6 bhp and maintains CO2 emissions at a minimal 99 g/km for the 2WD manual model. The hybrid system further enhances fuel economy, achieving between 22.7 to 20.4 km/l, varying by drivetrain.
The GSX-8R CUP prototype is inspired by the GSX-8R, famous for its compact 776cc inline-twin engine that delivers 83 bhp and 78 Nm of torque. The CUP variant boasts specialized components like fiberglass fairings, lowered handlebars, adjustable footrests, and a full Akrapovic exhaust system. It’s equipped with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V3 SC1 tires and a custom sticker kit to enhance track performance, making it a perfect choice for racing aficionados.
