Geely Auto has officially launched its latest electric SUV, the E5, in Guiyang, China. This vehicle was developed with the global market in mind from the outset. Built on the Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture (GEA), the E5 features a minimalist design that appeals to a worldwide audience.
Geely’s skilled R&D teams from around the world played a crucial role in developing both left- and right-hand drive versions of the E5. Their deep understanding of local markets has been integrated into this world-class model, which meets regulatory standards in 89 countries.
The E5 stands out in the global electric vehicle market due to its advanced technology. It includes self-developed features like an intelligent electric drive, a short-blade battery, and CTB technology. With dimensions of 4615 × 1901 × 1670 mm and a wheelbase of 2750 mm, the E5 offers a superior driving and riding experience compared to its competitors.
At the launch event, Jerry Gan, CEO of Geely Auto Group, announced that the company plans to share the technology for safely unlocking hidden door handles on new energy vehicles with the entire industry. This move aims to enhance safety standards across the sector.
In the first half of 2024, Geely Auto Group’s overseas sales grew by more than 67%, reaching a record high of 197,428 units. The E5, which will soon be available globally, is expected to further boost Geely’s international expansion as the company continues its commitment to sustainability and creating a better future for all.
