EKA Mobility has obtained two major contracts from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) worth around INR 150 crore. These contracts entail the provision and upkeep of 70 electric buses, signifying a major advancement in India’s transition to sustainable public transport. The electric buses aim to upgrade UPSRTC’s fleet by offering reduced emissions, increased operational efficiency, and improved comfort for passengers.
The EKA 12 and EKA 9 buses are equipped with electric drivetrains and battery systems designed for the Indian environment. Prioritizing reliability and performance, both models are fitted with regenerative braking systems, sophisticated thermal management, and optimized power delivery to enhance range. These buses are anticipated to provide a range of up to 200 kilometers per charge, which may vary based on driving conditions and operational practices, meeting the everyday requirements of public transport operators.
EKA Mobility will ensure smooth operations by providing the essential charging infrastructure along with the buses. This will feature fast-charging solutions aimed at reducing downtime and facilitating high-frequency fleet operations. Additionally, the contracts encompass a 10-year Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC), guaranteeing that the vehicles stay in optimal operational condition over their lifespan.
